widely known and used crystals and their healing connections.
The crystals we feature are dealt with
alphabetically but are not a comprehensive list, however the do give a
good and basic grounding in crystal healing and crystal properties.
Agate's
It is said that the most noticeable
properties overall are balancing yin/yang energy, courage, protection,
and calming. Historically it was placed in water for cooking or drinking
to dispel sickness. The Metaphysical and Healing Properties Lore of any
specific type of agate depend to some extent on the colour of the agate,
but all agates have certain things in common.
Agate is said to
enhances creativity and strengthens the intellect, making it a
beneficial stone for both students and artists. It is also known as a
good luck stone. As a stone of harmony, one of the things agate does is
balance yin/yang energy. Agate increases energy. However, because it is
a grounding stone, it does not increase energy at all times, but rather
enables bursts of energy as needed. In this way, agate is a conservation
stone, and enhances longevity.
Agate is said to be a
very protective stone. It is especially protective for children, and is
said to make an excellent stone for children's amulets, medicine bags,
jewellery, or just to carry around in a pocket. Agates are said to be
especially useful for protecting children from falling.
Emotionally, agate gives courage, emotional strength,
self-confidence, and dispels fears.
It can also lessen feelings of envy by grounding the
emotions. In the same way, it assists with acceptance of all things. It
can be very beneficial for self-examination as well as examination of
the circumstances one finds oneself in. These qualities make agate
superior for easing anxiety and stress.
Agate is said to
cleanse and stabilize the aura by removing and/or transforming negative
energy.
As far as relationships go, agate is said to be a
stone of marital and romantic fidelity.

and sprains and swellings which will rapidly disappear if gently stroked
with an Amethyst ‘palm stone’.
Amethyst is also is said to be useful in
intestinal complaints and stomach problems as it assists the utilization
of vital
vitamins and minerals, and said to regulates the flora of the large
intestine. Spiritually Amethyst is said to help quieten the mind and is
an aid to developing deep inner peace. It will help alleviate grief and
sadness and will give support to coming to terms with personal loss.
In Arabic countries Amethyst was put under the pillows of children to
prevent nightmares, and is another of the gemstones that resonates
especially well with children.
Amethyst has been used to great effect to prevent ‘psychic attack’
and can transmute the ‘negative energy’ thus
created into positive useable energy to once again support the
universe (nothing is ever lost!)
Amethyst is an ‘Angel Crystal’ and connects you more powerfully
to your own Angels and Guides. May also make communication with them

USES . is said to
provide protection, and open the door to both the Higher and Angelic

PROPERTIES . Angelite
is said to provide a protective field around any environment in which it
is used, and when carried on the person protects against many dangers to
the person. It is both a ‘sender’ and a ‘receiver’ in
telepathic communications, and makes it easier for you to communicate
with Spirit, especially with Totem
Spirits.
It is also said to be an excellent crystal to
enable promotion in work and furtherance of career.
It is is also said to be a crystal for raising
the state of conscious awareness and for promoting clear and orderly
communication.
It is is said to be THE crystal of
communication, whether that be on a physical or spiritual level.
It is said that it can be used to great effect in the ‘re-birthing’
process, facilitates psychic healing on many levels, can help heal
infections of the throat and thymus, and help alleviate symptoms
relative to the proper working of the heart.
Used to treat infections, balance the blood system and renew blood
vessels.
Used together with Mangano Calcite it will help ease a broken heart,
and as a trio with Rose Quartz help in the case of heart irregularities
and heart disease.

PROPERTIES . Apatite can
help us maintain healthy weight (together with other measures) and can
be a great aid to weight reduction. Also associated with enhanced
psychic development and the ability to ‘tap into’ past lives.
Apatite eases sorrow, increases liveliness, and yet helps with
exhaustion. (good when undertaking a new exercise regime)
It mobilises energy and helps form new and healthy cell tissue.
Especially associated with healthy teeth and bones.
Excellent as an aid to curing Arthritis, Rickets and all joint
problems.
Apatite enhances creativity and being a stone of the future it will
bring knowledge to those who use it by clearing mental confusion.
A much underestimated crystal it can help clear and align the Chakras
and protect the Aura from psychic

PROPERTIES.
This is a wonderful crystal to combat periods of stress and anger.
Carried about the person it will balance the emotions, and give the
ability to be strong in the face of opposition.
It acts almost as a sedating power where stress is concerned, and
although it cannot stop you from being stressed altogether, will help
combat the stress in evening out the emotions that are
causing you to go into stress mode.
Where anger is concerned, it again puts a sort of block onto the
emotions and prevents one losing one's temper, whilst allowing you to
see the bigger picture.
It also regulates the finer systems of the psyche by creating a
rhythmic and peaceful vibration within the person carrying it.
It is ‘THE’ stress stone and its colour and patterns and usually
circular formation when tumbled, lends itself to becoming a wonderful ‘
palm’ stone also.
It is also a wonderful stone to use when meditating for its grounding
and centring abilities.
It is very tactile and seems to always feel cool when you are hot,
and warm when you are cold!
Aragonite is useful to combat chills and colds, and to bring warmth
to the extremities. For poor circulation causing chilled extremities an
elixir can be utilised. An elixir can also be used as a spring tonic and
for dealing with general aches and pains.
Also helpful in problems of the skin, there have been reports of it
being valuable to carry against hair loss and in the prevention of
wrinkles and coarse skin.

healing stone when laid on the heart area
Aventurine also provided leadership qualities and has
been used in the treatment of lung
disorders, disorders of the adrenal glands and the
urogenital systems.

 Schorl
Black tourmaline, also known as schorl, is associated
with the root or base Chakra, and is excellent for grounding excess
energy.
It is a well known as a purifying stone that deflects
and transforms negative energy, and thus is very protective.
It can transform and remove negativity from an
individual or an environment.
It is often used as an aura cleanser, and can help one
attain higher levels of awareness.
Black tourmaline is also used for repelling and
protecting one from black magick, and is often said to return the
negative spell to the sender.
Some claim that black tourmaline deflects all kinds of
energy, but my personal experience is that it's not so. It is possible
that the black tourmaline's effect of grounding excess energy gives this
impression.
Black tourmaline has also been used to deflect radiation energy
from tv's and computer monitors. Emotionally, black tourmaline is
excellent for dispelling fears, obsessions, and neuroses, bringing
emotional stability. Physically, black tourmaline can strengthen the
immune system, help with heart disease, arthritis, and gout.

is said to be a master healer, providing composure, and stabilizing
emotions. A stone of wisdom and science, teaching us to reach for the
stars, and reminding us of the light within darkness. It is infused with
copper sparkles, a powerful energy generator.
This beautiful stone has been worn and cherished as a gemstone since
the European renaissance period. Goldstone lore suggests the stone is
uplifting, reduces tension, attracts positive energy, and has healing
properties.
Goldstone is a man made stone comprising of smelted Gypsum, Feldspar
and Copper filings.
Originally a group of Benedict Monks from Italy created the earliest
known examples of the substance we call Goldstone today. During the
1950's and 1960's Professor Sugi from Japan (Sugilite is named after the
professor) helped the monks refine the process whilst creating 4 color
varieties. The original colors developed were brown, bright yellow,
bright green and blue. For some reason the green and yellow colors were
dropped from production in the 1970's. Professor Sugi also developed
methods of dyeing agate with the Brazilians. Most of today's Goldstone
is made in China to higher standards than previously thought possible.

the qualities of air, flight and movement. The
energy of this stone is most useful at the
location of the throat Chakra and the third eye Chakra.
Blue Lace Agate is especially suited to those gentle and peaceful
people with shades of pale blue in their aura.
Can be very useful in the treatment of arthritic conditions and bone
deformity. It can also be used to strengthen the skeletal structure.
Very useful when used to help mend breaks and fractures of the bones
and for developments of the fingernails and toenails.
It can be used to help remove blockages from the nervous system and
from those glands that are associated with digestion.
In fact this crystal is a great help in either gaining or losing
weight whichever is beneficial to you at any given point in time.

Crystal is said to be the
